Centro del Boscaccio, Guareschi Museum (Diolo)

… the place is truly Guareschian, original in style and instantly recognisable, like the area and the characters described by the author from the Bassa …

The small but meaningful museum called “Centro of Boscaccio” originates from the passion and commitment of the couple Caterina and Cesare Bertozzi, and the friendship of the latter, which was confirmed by delicious episodes, with that formidable writer Giovannino Guareschi.
The name and location of the Museum are not random at all: in fact, the term “Boscaccio”, already present in the first of Guareschi’s stories, refers to the farm “Bosco” where the grandparents lived: a short distance from it stands the ancient bell tower of Diolo, mentioned in his narratives, that is now the Museum dedicated to him.
The place is so absolutely Guareschi, original and recognisable, as the land and the people described by the pen of the writer.
It seems impossible, but within the small tower, lives the world and the tradition of this extraordinary interpreter, through memories, testimonies, writings and objects that will arouse the visitor’s curiosity and admiration.
